Prize
The winner of the contest will receive a free night’s stay along with breakfast and dinner for two at The Lumberjack Lodge in Wellston.  The best photos will be posted online at www.ManisteeForest.com.  Winner will be notified via e-mail as soon as judging is completed.

Rules
The competition is open to amateurs and professionals. The photos must be taken in Manistee Forest or in the general area considered part of the Manistee Forest.  Color, B/W, Sepia are all accepted.  Future contests may include a category for digital creativity, but only basic digital enhancements are allowed (dodging, burning, adjustments).    

Submission
Please include the following details with your submission: your name and e-mail address, a title for the photo, a brief statement about your thoughts about the photo, where the photo was taken, when it was taken and the equipment used to take it. Please note that ManisteeForest.com does not allow names, logos or writing on photo entries. These markings must be removed prior to submission. You must be the sole author and owner of the copyright in all photos entered.

Size
Digital images should be submitted via email to contest@manisteeforest.com. Images should be formatted to 72 dpi, no smaller than 640 by 480 pixels.  The photos can be either JPG (at high quality) or TIFF format with a size no larger than 2 MB.  Digital images will not be returned.

Judging
Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality, and effectiveness in conveying the beauty and/or unique character of the Manistee Forest. A ManisteeForest.com panel will judge the entries and all contest decisions are final.  Entries that fail to comply with the Official Contest Rules will be disqualified.

Rights
Individual photographers retain all copyrights to their work with ManisteeForest.com allowed use of the photo on their website, for promotion of future photo contests, and for display at the Lumberjack Lodge in Wellston.  When photos are used in the preceding manner, credit will be given to the photographer. Photographs, along with the photographer's name and information about the photo, will be displayed on the ManisteeForest.com website.
